Coronavirus update following Government advice issued 16/03/20

Any patient with symptoms of new persistent cough and/or fever / loss of sense of smell or taste, the advice is for the whole household to self-isolate for 14 days.  If you symptoms are mild you do not need to call 111 or the GP.  If your symptoms are worsening call 111 for advice.

The most vulnerable patients are advised to continue to social distance.  This includes age over 70, pregnancy or underlying chronic health condition.

In order to protect the most vulnerable and maintain a working NHS through the upcoming months we have moved to a full telephone triage system.   Our aim is to manage as much as possible remotely and reduce footfall through the surgery.

Following a call from a clinician, should it be decided that it is essential for you to be seen face to face we will make appropriate arrangements to see you as safely as possible.

Do not attend the surgery for any reason unless you have been advised to do so by a clinician.

We are now advising all patients to make their prescription requests either using their nominated pharmacy, via my health online, or e-mail (enquiries@gp-w95050.wales.nhs.uk)

We will send your prescription to your designated pharmacy. If you do not have a designated pharmacy please let us know your chosen chemist when you make your request.

It is anticipated this pandemic will cause severe strain to NHS services for an extended period.  In order to protect the most vulnerable and not overwhelm the NHS it is essential to work together.
